Tabetha Thomas for a seat at the Democratic National Convention!
Candidacy Statement
I was changed on Feb 8th, 2008 when I went to hear Sen. Obama Speak at the Key Arena. I had heard Sen. Obama speak before on television, and at Trinity United Church of Christ where I have been a member for 13 years. Sen Obama I thought was eloquent and just a regular guy, but had never really touched me the way he did at the Key Arena. There was an overflow of people and Sen. Obama had to speak to them outside while the lucky ones like me were able to get in. I stood in line for about 3 hours that morning. The energy from the crowd and the pure excitement inspired me to get involved. His message of hope and his plan for the country sparked something in me to want to have a chance to make a difference.
From that day forward I have focused all my energy on helping Sen. Obama be elected as our next president. I have volunteered to make calls to delegates for the caucuses that were held on April 5th, and have called for support for Sen. Obama in Virginia, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, and Indiana. I am also currently on the waiting list to volunteer at the Democratic National Convention.
I have never wavered on my decision to vote for Sen. Obama. Let me represent your choice at the Democratic National Convention!
